I will not die an unlived life I will not live in fear of falling Or of catching fire I choose to inhabit my days To allow my living to open me Making me less afraid More accessible To loosen my heart So that it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise I choose to risk my significance. To live so that that which comes to me as seed Goes to the next as blossom And that which comes to me as blossom Goes on as fruit. --Donna Markova

Personality Types

Have any of you ever taken the Meyers-Briggs (sp?) test or any of those other personality type tests? I think they're very interesting. I have Wally for Adv. Eng. Lit & Comp and we took like three different tests that are all different types of personality tests. She takes our results and puts us into seating assignments based on what color we fall into. For example, I'm a green according to this Gregoric test and all the ppl at my little desk island are also greens.

I loved taking these tests because I think it's interesting that you can fall into a category based on your answer to a bunch of questions and that it can really be pretty accurate in it's depiction of you. For example...I'm a green, as I said...here are some things about greens...
- they're called "The Rationals"
- examples of other famous greens would be Albert Einstein, Walt Disney, President Eisenhower, Ayn Rand, Bill Gates and Margaret Thatcher
- we are the smallest group, making up only 5-7% of the population
- we're intelligent, focus on the "big picture", irritating to others sometimes, arrogant, curious, love to read and learn

Okay, those were all okay things to be w/ the exception of arrogant, right? Well, my subcategory based on this other M-B type test is that I'm a red-blue...here are some things about reds and blues. Wally gives us these packets w/ this stuff in it. I'm rather ashamed to be a red I think. Below are all direct quotes from those packets.
Reds...
- "the power weilders"
- "seek challenge and rise to the occasion."
- "visionary, insensitive, selfish, demanding, critical, "King of the Jungle" mentality, insecure, must be right, competitive and bold, tenacious, taxing, disagreeable, calculating, manipulative, relentless, impatient"...are we seeing a negative pattern here?
- it then goes on to explain how reds have deeply rooted insecurities that keep them from being able to form intimate relationships...great.

Okay, that was my thought of the day...I love my green table group...we all get along very well, but I think we'll start annoying one another very shortly...Later all, Katie

Btw, I got my UW-Madison application in the mail yesterday and I can't wait to get it done and over with. If all goes according to plan (and when does it ever, right?) than I should know if I got in w/in the next eight or nine weeks and then I won't have to worry about it anymore! Definitely a bonus...the whole rolling admission thing.
